Liberman's warning: "Israeli society is heading down the Lebanese path"

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman made clear that his party will not support a minority government that relies on the Arab factions, and criticized the pressures being exerted on him from the left. He recalled the words of Osama Saadi on election night and the fate of peace activists murdered by Hamas.

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman addressed today (Monday) in his speech the storm surrounding the possibility of forming a minority government with the support of the Arab parties, and made clear unequivocally that his party will not lend a hand to the move. Liberman criticized left-wing elements who called on him to cooperate with the Arab factions, arguing that such a move encourages separatism in Israeli society. He recalled the words of Osama Saadi on election night, who dedicated the victory to 'our brothers in East Jerusalem and the West Bank and the prisoners in Israeli prison,' and attacked: 'Who are these prisoners? They are Nukhba who murdered, raped, and burned.' Liberman revealed that he received many inquiries from left-wing figures demanding he agree to the formation of a government with Arab support, and mentioned peace activists Vivian Silver and Oded Lifshitz, who were murdered in the October 7 massacre and in Hamas captivity, as an example that even their activism for the Palestinians did not protect them. He concluded by clarifying that Yisrael Beiteinu will not support any minority government.
