"Let's see what happens": Iran marked 15 Western bases in Europe

The Tehran municipality newspaper 'Hamshahri' published a front page featuring a map of Europe with 15 American and NATO military bases marked as targets, under the headline 'Let's see what happens'. The publication comes amid the arrest of a sabotage cell near a base in Britain and the removal of American bombers.

The Tehran municipality newspaper 'Hamshahri' published a front page with a map of Europe showing 15 American and NATO military bases marked as targets, under the headline 'Let's see what happens'. The bases are located in Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Albania, and Romania. A Revolutionary Guard officer stands on the map. Among the targets: RAF Fairford in Britain, from which American bombers took off for strikes on Iran. In September, five British men were arrested near the base, and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there were strong signs of Iranian involvement. In early October, the US removed its bombers from the base, and Donald Trump said this was done due to threats. On October 27, indictments were filed against two of the suspects, aged 24, who acted on the instructions of a man known as 'Ali'. The publication came three days after Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered the military to respond to any threat with an 'immediate, effective, and geographically unlimited' response.
