Change Bloc leaders to meet ahead of presidential consultations

Five leaders of Israel's Change Bloc — Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, Yair Golan, and Yair Lapid — will meet on Tuesday in Herzliya to coordinate ahead of consultations with the president on forming a government.

The five leaders of the change bloc — Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, Yair Golan, and Yair Lapid — will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:30 at the Dan Accadia Hotel in Herzliya, ahead of consultations at the President's Residence. Bennett and Lieberman announced they will recommend Eisenkot to President Isaac Herzog to form the government, but disagreements over the composition of the government remain open. Lieberman ruled out joining a minority government and a government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, and supported replacing Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and appointing Lapid to the position. Bennett committed to respecting the voter's decision and announced his support for Eisenkot. Yair Golan also announced he will recommend Eisenkot. Herzog decided to change the order of consultations and start with the smaller factions, in order to examine the full range of possibilities for forming a government.
