Lebanese-Israeli negotiations to resume Tuesday... Aoun: A military delegation will participate to demand a halt to escalation

Lebanon and Israel will resume negotiations on Tuesday in Florida. President Aoun said a military delegation will participate to put the demand for a halt to Israeli escalation on the table, during his meeting with a French ministerial delegation.

Lebanese-Israeli negotiations are set to resume on Tuesday, October 20, in Tampa, Florida, USA. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated on Saturday that a military delegation will participate in the upcoming tripartite meeting to put the Lebanese demand for a halt to Israeli escalation on the table. Aoun's remarks came during a meeting with a French ministerial delegation headed by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot. Aoun affirmed that Israel continues its attacks on southern villages and towns, intensifying bulldozing operations, destroying homes, and preventing farmers from accessing their lands to harvest crops, and that it has not adhered to the terms of the 'framework agreement' reached between the two countries under American auspices. Aoun pointed out that these practices maintain the occupation and tension in the south, preventing the Lebanese army from deploying to the international southern border in implementation of Resolution 1701.
