Launch of the First Conference of the General Assembly of Palestine Students

The first conference of the General Assembly of Palestine Students was launched in Istanbul with delegations from more than 28 countries, opened with a speech by the head of the founding body, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Farra, and included dialogue sessions and training workshops on student and national work. The conference continues until Saturday with the completion of organizational requirements and the election of a president for the assembly.

The first conference of the General Assembly of Palestine Students was launched in Istanbul, Turkey, with the participation of Palestinian student delegations representing assemblies, bodies, and initiatives from more than 28 countries, along with figures experienced in student, youth, and national work. The conference coincides with the official announcement of the establishment of the assembly, which aims to organize Palestinian student energies and enhance their presence in communities and national spaces, and to develop the leadership and institutional capacities of student frameworks. The first day's proceedings opened with a speech by the head of the founding body, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Farra, in which he reviewed the stages of establishment and the goals of the assembly. The former Secretary-General of the World Islamic Union for Student Organizations, Dr. Omar Kurkmaz, also gave a speech praising the initiative. The opening included a foundational speech by researcher Ziad Abuhais, addressing the historical role of the Palestinian student movement. A dialogue session titled "The Palestinian Student Movement" was held, along with a training workshop on the philosophy of student work. The first day concluded with an evening attended by freed prisoners Mahmoud Shreiteh and Mahmoud Issa Abu Marsel. The conference continues until Saturday, and the final day includes completing organizational requirements and announcing the elected president of the assembly.
