President Donald Trump has not yet determined which path the US will take to achieve this goal, leaving both diplomatic and military scenarios open. Senior US presidential advisor for Arab and Middle Eastern affairs Massad Boulos told Euronews that Trump believes the end of the war is near and is personally working to end the conflict. The advisor did not specify a timeline, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the president. Washington's main condition remains preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The advisor's statements came almost simultaneously with a harsher signal from Trump himself. In an interview with Axios, the president confirmed that he is approaching an important decision regarding the further course of the war and is considering the possibility of resuming large-scale military operations against Iran. Before making a decision, Trump intends to hold consultations with the leadership of the Gulf states on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Previously, the opinion of Arab states has influenced Washington's decisions: in August, Trump backed down from further escalation after concerns from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Washington is simultaneously beginning to look at what should happen after the war. Boulos stated that the administration expects to return to expanding the Abraham Accords once the current conflict is resolved.
