Khan al-Ahmar: Residents repel settler attack and force them to leave the area
Settlers attacked homes in the Bedouin community of "al-Tabna" near Khan al-Ahmar, throwing stones at residents before the locals managed to repel them and force their withdrawal, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
On Sunday evening, settlers attacked homes in the Bedouin community of "al-Tabna" near Khan al-Ahmar, throwing stones at residents before the locals managed to repel them and force their withdrawal. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the attack originated from one of the settlement wells established in the area and targeted the homes of the community's residents. The Bedouin community in the vicinity of Khan al-Ahmar faces repeated attacks by settlers, including assaults on residential clusters and harassment of residents, as part of pressures aimed at displacing Bedouin communities from the area. The Khan al-Ahmar region is a target for settlement expansion due to its strategic location east of Jerusalem on the road connecting Jerusalem and Jericho. In the context of fueling settlement in the area, the Jerusalem Governorate noted in July the establishment of a new settlement well near the Bedouin community of "al-Mahtoush," adjacent to the Khan al-Ahmar area.
