In an interview with Piers Morgan, Qatar's Prime Minister sharply attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a "war criminal." He stated, "What is being carried out in Gaza are war crimes, and whoever is responsible for that is a war criminal." He accused Netanyahu of attempting to "gaslight" the public when he attacked Qatar from the UN podium. The Qatari official firmly rejected accusations that Qatar funded Hamas, claiming that the transfer of funds, about $30 million per month, was done in full coordination with Israel and with the approval of Israeli security bodies. He revealed that immediately after October 7, Qatar offered an immediate ceasefire for the release of civilian hostages, but Israel refused. Additionally, the Prime Minister acknowledged the enormous economic damage to Qatar due to the confrontation with Iran, including a loss of about $24 billion in gas revenues, an 80% drop in tourism, and an 8% decline in GDP. He called for quiet diplomacy with Iran and the demilitarization of the Strait of Hormuz.
