Israeli raids, shelling and explosions hit towns in southern Lebanon

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon continue with airstrikes, artillery shelling, and house demolitions, alongside the construction of roads to connect military positions. Artillery targeted Wadi al-Hajir, Wadi al-Saluqi, and the Marjeyoun plain, with a raid on Aita al-Jabal and a building demolition in Beit Yahoun. Lebanese fears grow over expanded operations amid threats to occupy Sidon, Tyre, and Nabatieh.

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon continue, with intensified airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition and bulldozing operations targeting homes and infrastructure, alongside the construction of mountain roads to connect newly established military positions in the central and western sectors. On Tuesday, various areas of the south witnessed artillery shelling and airstrikes: artillery targeted Wadi al-Hajir, Wadi al-Saluqi, and the Marjeyoun plain with five shells, while a raid hit the town of Aita al-Jabal, and the outskirts of the town of Kunin were shelled. Israeli aircraft also dropped flare bombs over Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Douha Kafr Rumman, concurrent with a drone flying over Sidon and its suburbs. In the context of the attacks, the Israeli army demolished a building in the town of Beit Yahoun and continued bulldozing homes and infrastructure in Zawtar al-Sharqiya, as part of a destruction campaign affecting wide areas of southern Lebanon. Lebanese fears are escalating over the expansion of Israeli operations, amid repeated threats to occupy southern cities and towns, including Sidon, Tyre, and Nabatieh, and Tel Aviv's lack of readiness to withdraw from the area it describes as "security," with field developments indicating efforts to expand it. This comes despite official Lebanese demands to stop the attacks and allow residents to return to their towns and begin reconstruction.
