Change Bloc leaders meet ahead of presidential consultations

Leaders of Israel's Change Bloc met Tuesday in Herzliya to coordinate recommendations for prime minister ahead of presidential consultations. The bloc is expected to recommend Gadi Eisenkot, while Netanyahu's bloc has not yet announced its recommendations.

The parade of recommenders at the President's Residence sets out today, with all members of the Change Bloc announcing they will recommend Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot for prime minister. On the other side, Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc has not yet officially stated whom they will recommend. Shas is expected to recommend Netanyahu, while United Torah Judaism will likely not recommend anyone. The Arab parties, Ra'am and the Joint List, are coordinated and expected to recommend Eisenkot. Eisenkot has 48 recommenders from the Change Bloc, and if the Arab parties join, he will almost certainly receive the mandate first. President Herzog will open consultations with the smaller factions, and the first to arrive is Religious Zionism-Identity. The article details the schedule of consultations and the possibilities for forming the government.
