Israeli raids and closures hinder Palestinian movement in the West Bank

Israeli occupation forces continued their raids on cities, towns, and camps in the West Bank early Saturday morning, coinciding with house raids, searches, and detentions of residents, as well as the closure of roads and military checkpoints in several areas. In Tulkarm, occupation forces arrested citizen Bashar Awda. In Bethlehem, all military checkpoints at the entrances of western rural villages were closed, impeding residents' movement. The number of barriers and closure points reached 942.

In the Tulkarm governorate, occupation forces arrested citizen Bashar Awda after raiding and searching his home in the Shweika suburb north of Tulkarm city. Occupation forces also raided the town of Zita north of Tulkarm, searched residents' homes, tampered with their contents, and subjected residents to field interrogations. The governorate's towns and villages are witnessing daily and repeated raids, coinciding with the continuation of the aggression on Tulkarm city and its two camps for the 608th consecutive day. In Jerusalem, occupation forces raided the town of Kafr Aqab north of Jerusalem, patrolled its streets, and then withdrew towards the city of Al-Bireh. They also raided the Umm al-Sharayit and al-Jinan neighborhoods in Al-Bireh, and al-Am'ari camp, firing sound bombs. In Qalandia camp, an Israeli army force raided the camp early Saturday and spread throughout various parts of it. In the Bethlehem governorate, occupation forces closed all military checkpoints at the entrances of the western rural villages of the governorate, preventing citizens, including pedestrians, from crossing, thus impeding their movement. They also raided the Karm al-Sar'awi farm in the Khalayel al-Loz area and seized the recording device of surveillance cameras. They raided the town of Tuqu' and the towns of Dar Salah, al-Shawawra, and Za'atara east of the governorate. According to data from the Commission of Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, the number of barriers, closure points, and obstacles recorded between the West Bank governorates reached 942 barriers and obstacles, including 824 fixed barriers and closure points, and 118 linear obstacles consisting of berms, trenches, and road barriers. The total length of these obstacles reaches approximately 107.7 kilometers, according to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
