Israeli Ambassador to Mexico Yoed Magen held a press conference on Friday, November 6, to reject what he described as a well-orchestrated and well-funded disinformation campaign against Israel in Mexico. Magen addressed conspiracy theories including claims that Israel is stealing Mexico's water, seeking to colonize the country, and that former Israeli soldiers are infiltrating indigenous schools in Chiapas. He stated that the campaign is being exploited by various actors, including Palestinians, to promote hatred and delegitimize Israel. Regarding water allegations, Magen noted Israel's expertise in water management and said a 2023 cooperation agreement with Chihuahua was never implemented. On the school infiltration claims, he explained that Israeli backpackers volunteer through organizations like Heroes for Life, coordinating with local authorities. The Chiapas Education Department denied authorizing entry to current or former IDF members.
