AEYE Health, an Israeli-American digital health company, has won the 2026 Prix Galien USA Award for Best Digital Health Solution for its AEYE-DS technology, a fully autonomous AI diagnostic tool designed to prevent blindness from diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy, caused by damage to retinal blood vessels, is the leading cause of blindness among working-age adults and can be prevented with early detection. AEYE-DS uses portable or tabletop retinal cameras with an FDA-cleared AI program to deliver accurate, immediate results without a physician's interpretation, addressing barriers such as limited specialist availability and long wait times. The technology was validated in three prospective phase-III clinical trials and is now expanding across the United States. CEO Dr. Zack Dvey-Aharon called the award one of the greatest honors of his professional life, emphasizing that the greatest achievement is preserving patients' sight. The company is also developing AEYE-X, a next-generation platform that can assess over 100 health indications from retinal images.
