Israel returned to October 6 - Yisrael Beiteinu warned of danger

Knesset member Evgeny Sova (Yisrael Beiteinu) stated that Israel is in a situation similar to October 6, on the eve of the October 7 attack. He left a closed meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee with serious concerns, noting that the government has not learned its lessons. Sova warned about the restoration of Hamas's military capabilities in Gaza.

Knesset member Evgeny Sova from the Yisrael Beiteinu party, a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, stated that Israel has effectively returned to the situation preceding the October 7, 2023 attack. According to him, after the closed committee meeting, he left 'very alarmed' after hearing 'extremely alarming information' about the situation on the fronts in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the Iranian threat. Sova emphasized that his party has been warning for several months about the restoration of Hamas's military capabilities in the Gaza Strip: the aid entering the enclave allows the organization to raise funds for building tunnels and restoring military infrastructure. In his opinion, Hamas intends to repeat an attack similar to that of October 7. The politician also believes that the country's leadership has not abandoned the approach that existed before October 7 and has not taken the necessary decisive measures. Sova called on the IDF to timely inform the political leadership about threats, and on the authorities to make appropriate decisions.
