According to a Fox News report based on internal Iranian sources, the authorities have declared 100% alert in the army, Revolutionary Guards, and police, canceled all leaves until the end of September, and deployed about 51,000 security personnel in the Greater Tehran area. Local sources describe a deep intimidation mechanism: security forces photograph shops and merchants, political prisoners receive direct threats, and Basij reservists have been gathered in designated compounds. Iranian journalist Mehdi Ghadimi reported that the regime has even released hardened criminals from prisons in exchange for their reporting to Basij bases and violent participation in suppressing protesters. Concurrently with internal pressure, the Revolutionary Guards are threatening the Trump administration. Organization spokesman Hossein Mohbi attacked Washington and called on US citizens to pressure President Donald Trump. The unusual preparations underscore the leadership's deep fear of a renewed flare-up akin to the 2022 protests, while the regime is at one of the lowest points in its history: regional war, crippling economic sanctions, soaring inflation, and loss of control over strategic bottlenecks.
