Two residents of Eilat have been indicted for robbing a man who left a bar in the city, after they noticed him pulling out 8,000 shekels in cash from his pocket to pay his bill. The defendants followed the victim to his home, sprayed his face with pepper spray, and stole the money and a mobile phone. Security camera footage supports the indictment.
The Southern District Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Daniel Marsiano (20) and Abd al-Rahman Hadi Bui (36), residents of Eilat, for a robbery that occurred earlier this month. According to the indictment, the two were at a bar in Eilat and noticed the victim pulling out bills totaling about 8,000 shekels from his pocket to pay his bill. After he paid and returned the change to his pocket, the defendants left the bar and waited for him nearby. They walked ahead of him toward his home, and when he reached an alley near his house, they waited for him at the top of the stairs. When they spotted him, they shouted to each other "Here he comes" and began running after him. After catching up, Abd sprayed his face with pepper spray and took the cash from his pocket. Then Abd led the victim to a nearby street corner, searched his pockets, and also took a mobile phone from him. Eilat police investigators took a statement from the victim, and security camera footage shows part of the robbery. Eyewitnesses at the bar described how the victim pulled out a bundle of cash in front of others. In the requests for detention until the end of proceedings, it was noted that this is a serious crime committed in the middle of the street in broad daylight.
