The IDF evacuated Israeli rioters from an area near the Palestinian village of Jalud in Area B of the West Bank on Saturday after a fire broke out at the scene. The military stated on Sunday that the circumstances of the fire are still under investigation. Separately, early on Sunday, the IDF announced a ban on the entry and exit of Palestinian workers throughout Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, including industrial zones, and the closure of all land crossings during Israel's general elections on Tuesday. This comes amid a multi-day West Bank counterterrorism operation following a Hamas attack that killed two soldiers and left three others lightly wounded. The military has said the terrorists who carried out the attack have been killed. The IDF and Shin Bet are investigating whether the two terrorists were part of a small self-contained cell or connected to a larger terror cell. According to the IDF, some 40 suspects were apprehended over the weekend, including people affiliated with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and suspects involved in incitement, public disorder, and rock-hurling. The IDF also engaged in planned training exercises in the West Bank for the Judea and Samaria Division to test operational readiness.
