A teacher with over 15 years of experience wrote in a closed group of education workers: 'I left the classroom crying, I've never felt so humiliated.' This testimony joins hundreds of similar accounts in closed groups, describing boundless verbal and physical violence, lack of discipline, and fear of parents who back their children. In recent days, extreme cases have been recorded, including a student who slammed the vice principal's head into the floor and a student who threw a megaphone and keyboard at a vice principal. A RAMA survey published yesterday (Wednesday) among 27,092 teachers found that 31% of teachers report burnout, 49% heavy workload, 24% exhaustion, 21% are considering leaving teaching, 9% feel unsafe at school, 14% feel that parental interference hinders their work, and 6% feel threatened by students. Avigail Samim, co-chair of the school principals' organization 'Leaders', said the education system is in deep crisis due to lack of authority and violence, and called for restoring authority and protection to educational staff.
