The arrest of contractor Shalom Siso, suspected in a financial fraud case totaling 6 million shekels related to IDF work in Gaza, was extended by four days at the Magistrate's Court. During the hearing, Siso broke down in tears and described his distress in prison, saying 'I feel like I'm dying, that I'm terrified, that they took everything from me.' Judge Tzabari acknowledged his distress but ruled that the grounds for obstruction in such cases are clear, and ordered his detention extended until October 26, 2026. Two other suspects were released to house arrest. The case was exposed last Tuesday, when Lahav 433 investigators, military police, and the Tax Authority arrested 21 suspects, including five IDF non-commissioned officers and 16 civilians. The main suspicion is fraud in infrastructure work carried out for the IDF in the Gaza Strip during the Iron Swords war, through fuel theft, offsetting fictitious invoices, and bribery.
