"I added 'B'ezrat Hashem' to Netanyahu's speeches, today he adds it himself"
Government Secretary Yossi Fuchs told the Tzomet and Makor Rishon conference about the religious dimension he introduced to the Prime Minister's Office's work during the war, including prayers for soldiers and adding 'B'ezrat Hashem' to Netanyahu's speeches. According to him, Netanyahu now adds the phrase independently.
Government Secretary, attorney Yossi Fuchs, spoke today (Sunday) about the religious dimension accompanying the work of the Prime Minister's Office, especially during the war. In remarks delivered at the joint conference of the Tzomet Institute and Makor Rishon at Binyanei Ha'uma in Jerusalem, Fuchs described how he worked to incorporate prayers and blessings at moments when dramatic security decisions were made. "I saw in my role an importance in adding the religious dimension to everything during my tenure, especially in the war," Fuchs said. He recounted reciting 'Mi Sheberach' prayers for IDF soldiers before approving operations, distributing books of Psalms, and adding the phrase 'B'ezrat Hashem' to the Prime Minister's speeches. Fuchs noted that Netanyahu, who is not a religious person, began adding the phrase independently. "Today I no longer tell him, and he adds the 'B'ezrat Hashem' independently," he said. Fuchs also addressed the halachic challenges in his role, particularly on Saturdays when he was required to participate in security discussions, and explained the distinction between actions defined as life-saving and those that are not.
