Yaniv Hayon, one of the Israelis who subdued the stabbing pilot on a Flydubai flight to Tel Aviv, was interviewed on the show of American host Dr. Phil. Hayon recounted the dramatic moments: screams from the cockpit, lights and screens turning off, a sharp tilt of the plane, and how he grabbed the stabbing pilot in a chokehold and pulled him out. He said the thought of his wife and daughters on the flight drove him to act.

Yaniv Hayon, one of the Israeli passengers on a Flydubai flight en route to Tel Aviv, was interviewed on the show of iconic American host Dr. Phil. Hayon recounted the dramatic moments: about an hour before landing, screams were heard from the front of the plane about stabbings. The lights and screens went off, the power went out, and the plane tilted sharply to the left. Hayon said he entered the cockpit, saw the stabbed pilot lying on the floor and the stabbing pilot leaning over the instruments. He grabbed the stabber in a chokehold and pulled him out. When asked what drove him to act, he replied: "The thought of my wife and daughters on the flight." Hayon noted he had not been in a fight since he was a mischievous child in kindergarten. Dr. Phil, a clinical psychologist by training, hosted Hayon in an interview translated with subtitles for American viewers.
