At least seven masked individuals broke into the storage facility of the Marchesi Antinori winery in Tuscany, Italy, on Saturday. The burglars disabled the alarm systems and security cameras, and used the company's forklifts to load approximately 30,000 bottles of wine onto two trucks, with an estimated value of around €5 million. The theft occurred while the winery was preparing to ship wines to overseas customers. Among the bottles taken were the winery's flagship wines, including Tignanello, Solaia, and Guado al Tasso, priced between €150 and €500 per bottle. The winery's CEO, Renzo Cotarella, stated that this is the largest wine theft of its kind in Italy. The winery believes the thieves had knowledge of the field. The theft was only discovered on Monday morning, and no suspects have been arrested yet. Marchesi Antinori winery was founded in 1385 and exports wines to 170 countries.
