Head of Investigations Division against the State Attorney's Office: "They keep files in a drawer"

Recordings of Police Investigations and Intelligence Division head Boaz Blet reveal harsh criticism against the State Attorney's Office, which he accused of using "drawer files" to pressure people. Blet also attacked the Police Internal Investigations Department and the handling of crime in the Arab sector.

Police Investigations and Intelligence Division head, Commissioner Boaz Blet, harshly criticized the State Attorney's Office and the Police Internal Investigations Department (Mahash) in recordings obtained by Channel 12 News. Blet accused the State Attorney's Office of using "drawer files" – cases kept without action for a year, used as leverage against individuals. He claimed these same tools are also used against police officers through Mahash, and that anyone who deviates is summoned for questioning. Blet sharply criticized the State Attorney's Office's handling of crime in the Arab sector, claiming that cases in this area are neglected. Additionally, he accused the police themselves of officers being afraid to confront Arab crime families, noting that in the past criminals were checked dozens of times a year, and now they are not checked at all. The recordings reveal unusual internal criticism from within the system.
