An indictment was filed against Ali Maswada for the murder of his partner, Yanina Rusinova. He confessed to stabbing her to death in the neck in front of their infant son, washing her body in the shower, and attempting to cover up the murder. The motive: suspicion of infidelity.

An indictment was filed against Ali Maswada, 28, for the murder of his partner Yanina (Yonit) Rusinova in their apartment in Haifa. Maswada confessed to a police informant in the detention cell that he had planned the murder in advance due to suspicion of infidelity and a strained relationship with her family. According to the indictment, he stabbed Rusinova in the neck with a kitchen knife while their infant son, about two months old, was in his crib in the apartment. After the stabbing, Maswada washed her body in the shower to obscure evidence, carried her out of the apartment, and called the police emergency line. He even joined the resuscitation efforts to create a false impression of a rescue attempt. Her death was determined at Rambam Hospital. Rusinova's mother, who lives in Belarus, seeks to raise her orphaned grandson.
