The terrorist organization Hamas has sent an official appeal to the administration of US President Donald Trump amid ongoing IDF strikes on the Gaza Strip. In its statement, Hamas calls on mediators and the US administration to immediately intervene to stop the Israeli campaign against Gaza's hospitals. The organization also demands that the international community ensure the protection of medical facilities, lift the blockade on them, allow the delivery of medical supplies, and rebuild destroyed hospitals. In response, the IDF spokesperson in Arabic stated that Hamas terrorists systematically use hospitals and other civilian infrastructure as part of their military and terrorist activities. The military claims that such practices pose a direct threat to patients, medical workers, and other civilians, turning medical facilities from places of saving lives into elements of combat infrastructure. Earlier, the commander of the Gaza Division, Brigadier General Liron Betito, reported that Israeli forces control about 63% of the territory of the sector, and control over border crossings limits the group's ability to transfer weapons and resources. Israeli security services also believe that Hamas is preparing for a possible resumption of hostilities, and dozens of the group's militants are located on the grounds of the Nasser Hospital.
