Trump rapidly losing popularity in the US - poll
A new Reuters and Ipsos poll shows that Kamala Harris supporters are significantly more motivated to participate in the midterm elections than Trump supporters. Trump's approval rating stands at 32%, with 65% of respondents disapproving. Declining support has been recorded among key groups, including men and Latinos.
A new Reuters and Ipsos poll, conducted less than a month before the US midterm elections, records a significant weakening of Donald Trump's position. According to the data, voters who supported Kamala Harris in the last presidential election show a much higher willingness to vote in the midterms than Trump supporters: 48% versus 30%. Meanwhile, 10% of Trump voters said they do not plan to vote at all, compared to only 6% among Harris supporters. Trump's policy approval rating remains low at 32%, with 65% of respondents disapproving. The poll also shows a double-digit decline in support for the president among Latinos, men, rural and suburban residents, Americans without higher education, and evangelical Christians. The trend among men is particularly telling: 43% intend to support Democrats in the midterms, while 39% lean toward Republicans. A year ago, the situation was reversed, with a majority of men supporting the Republican Party. The main issue for voters remains the rising cost of living, followed by protecting democratic values and illegal immigration.
