Hadas Shteif and Galei Tzahal to compensate Efi Naveh with 600,000 shekels

Judge Oren Schwartz of the Lod District Court ordered Galei Tzahal and former crime reporter Hadas Shteif to compensate attorney Efi Naveh with approximately 600,000 shekels, for hacking his mobile phone and using the illegally obtained materials. The legal proceedings lasted about seven and a half years. During her testimony two years ago, Shteif insisted she did not hack the phone but received materials already taken from the hacked devices. Naveh's lawyer pressed her on why she requested immunity, and she replied: "I requested immunity because I was afraid they would harm me. Only later did I understand that immunity means not being prosecuted."
