Going on a trip during Sukkot Chol Hamoed? These are the activities in the national parks

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority and the Mifal Hapayis lottery present the 'Noshim Tarbut' project during Sukkot Chol Hamoed, featuring activities, performances, and workshops at six national parks, five of which are in northern Israel, aiming to boost tourism and local businesses in the region.

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority and the Mifal Hapayis lottery are launching the annual 'Noshim Tarbut' project during Sukkot Chol Hamoed, in its 13th edition. The activities will take place at six national parks across the country, five in the north: Kochav Hayarden, Tzipori, Tel Hazor, Tel Megiddo, and Yehiam Fortress, and one in the south – Mamshit. The events will span three days, Monday through Wednesday (September 28-30), between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Each site will feature a unique program: at Kochav Hayarden – a family navigation game and a film in the ancient water cistern; at Tzipori – live performances and a puzzle game; at Tel Hazor – circus shows and a Canaanite script deciphering workshop; at Tel Megiddo – innovative visualization aids and guided tours; at Yehiam Fortress – guided tours and a panoramic viewpoint; at Mamshit – dance and music performances, an art market, and food stalls. Dulin Melnik, director of the culture division at Mifal Hapayis, noted that the project reflects a connection between culture, art, and nature, making culture accessible to diverse audiences. Shlomit Shavit from the Nature and Parks Authority emphasized that the collaboration enables a unique visitor experience combining art with natural, heritage, and archaeological sites.
