Gaza University Journals Achieve Advanced Rankings in the 2026 'Arcif' Classification

Five scientific journals affiliated with Gaza University achieved advanced rankings in the 2026 'Arcif' classification. The Journal of Humanities Research ranked eighth in the Arab world in the Arts and Humanities category within the first tier (Q1). The Journal of Islamic Studies also entered the first tier in Islamic Studies. The Dean of Scientific Research affirmed that this achievement reflects the university's scientific leadership despite the exceptional circumstances in the Gaza Strip.

Five scientific journals affiliated with Gaza University achieved advanced rankings in the 2026 'Arcif' classification, the eleventh annual report of the impact factor and citation index for Arab scientific journals. The evaluation covered over 5,650 scientific journals across the Arab world, of which 1,303 met the accreditation criteria. The university's journals were assessed according to 32 criteria aligned with international scientific publishing standards. The Islamic University Journal of Humanities Research ranked eighth in the Arab world in the interdisciplinary Arts and Humanities category, with an impact factor of 0.506, and was classified in the first tier (Q1). The Islamic University Journal of Educational and Psychological Studies also ranked eighth in the Arab world in Psychology within the first tier (Q1). The Islamic University Journal of Economic and Administrative Studies ranked eleventh in the Arab world in the first tier (Q1), with an impact factor of 1.0769. The Islamic University Journal of Sharia and Legal Studies ranked twentieth in the Arab world in Islamic Studies within the second tier (Q2). The Islamic University Journal of Islamic Studies entered the first tier (Q1) in Islamic Studies. The Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at the university, Professor Dr. Ammar Abu Hadrous, affirmed that the achievement is the result of teamwork and reflects the university's scientific leadership. This achievement comes amid the exceptional circumstances facing academic institutions in the Gaza Strip.
