Gaza residents held a solidarity vigil in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza on the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, calling for international action to stop Israeli violations against male and female prisoners. Leaders from national and Islamic forces and the Ahrar movement participated in the vigil.

On Monday, November 2, 2026, Gaza residents held a solidarity vigil in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross headquarters west of Gaza City, in support of prisoners in Israeli prisons, coinciding with the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. The vigil was titled: 'From the ominous Balfour Declaration to captivity... one promise and ongoing injustice.' Participants called for international action to stop Israeli violations against male and female prisoners and to shed light on their detention conditions. Issam Abu Daqqa, a member of the Prisoners Committee of the National and Islamic Forces, said that the Balfour Declaration 109 years ago formed a Zionist colonial project against the Palestinian people and contributed to the beginning of their ongoing suffering. He called on the British government to assume its responsibility and pressure Israel to stop its violations. Meanwhile, Warda Radwan, a leader in the Ahrar movement, said that Palestinian female prisoners face difficult detention conditions including physical torture.
