Gasoline prices in Israel are expected to rise sharply as early as next week. On Thursday evening, September 24, N12 reported that fuel costs could increase by approximately 40 agorot per liter. One of the reasons cited is the growing tension with Iran, accompanied by a rise in global oil prices. The final cost will be determined closer to the end of the current month, so for now this is a preliminary estimate. Previously, after changes in excise tax rates, prices dropped significantly: the maximum price per liter of 95-octane unleaded gasoline at self-service pumps, including VAT, was set at 7.75 shekels — a decrease of 50 agorot. However, at the beginning of this month, prices rose again: the Fuel and Gas Authority at the Ministry of Energy announced a change in regulated prices, and the liter increased to 8.25 shekels — an addition of 16 agorot.
