Heads of local authorities along the northern frontline sent an urgent letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding that budgets designated for border communities be exempted from the planned across-the-board cuts in government ministry budgets. Forum Chairman Moshe Davidovich, who also heads the Mateh Asher Regional Council, warned that budget cuts would lead to the cancellation of programs and harm residents' security. The forum demands exemptions for budgets under the "Northern Shield" program, education, welfare, health, employment, infrastructure, rehabilitation, daycare subsidies, and budgets for demographic growth and community resilience. Additionally, an exemption is required for balancing grants from the Ministry of Interior. The letter was also sent to Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Minister Ze'ev Elkin, and the Government Secretary.
