Former IDF Intelligence Chief, Maj. Gen. (res.) Uri Sagi, warns in an interview with Radio North 104.5FM that the United States is gradually abandoning its unconditional support for Israel, following President Trump's announcement of a halt to aid. Sagi sharply criticizes the government's conduct in Judea and Samaria, describing the situation there as a dangerous 'nuclear reactor' for Israel's future. He criticizes Smotrich's 2017 'decision plan,' which he says will doom the settlement enterprise and cause the world to lose patience. Sagi also attacks settler violence, which he calls 'the Sicarii,' and the rabbis he says incite and back it. Referring to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, he calls for the establishment of a new government that will put an end to illegal settlement. Regarding Iran, Sagi doubts the existence of a clear strategy on the part of Israel and the US, and states that while Iran has suffered blows, it has not yet lost its objectives.
