For the tenth day.. Authority's security forces continue to detain the father of martyr Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Muna
The Committee of Families of Political Prisoners condemns the Palestinian Authority's continued detention of Ya'qub Abu al-Muna, father of martyr Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Muna, for the tenth consecutive day, and demands his immediate release. The committee says the detention is due to his demand for accountability of those responsible for his son's death, whom the Authority's forces are accused of killing in Jenin in March 2025.
The Committee of Families of Political Prisoners in the West Bank condemns the Palestinian Authority's continued detention of citizen Ya'qub Abu al-Muna, father of martyr Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Muna, for the tenth consecutive day. The committee demands his immediate release and an end to the pressures and blackmail he is subjected to. The committee says in a statement that Abu al-Muna is being held in harsh conditions inside al-Junaid prison in Nablus, considering his detention stems from his demand for accountability of those responsible for his son's death. It explains that the martyr Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Muna, aged 23, was a fighter in the Jenin Battalion and was killed on March 10, 2025, after being shot and arrested by a security force from the Authority's forces in Jenin. The committee adds that the autopsy report showed the martyr was hit by nine bullets, including wounds to the head and heart from close range after his arrest. The committee believes that the arrest of his father on September 5 aims to pressure him into dropping the case of his son's death. It calls on human rights organizations to intervene.
