FlyDubai has suspended flights between Israel and Dubai, depriving Israeli tourists of one of the key transit hubs for travel to Asia. Dubai was used by many Israelis for flights to the Far East, including Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. A study by the travel company Gulliver showed that alternative transit airports could be in Addis Ababa, Tashkent, Baku, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. The cheapest option turned out to be a flight to Bangkok with Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa — from $741 per person. Travel to Tokyo is possible with KLM flights via Amsterdam from $1,066. A flight to Manila in the Philippines is offered by Air India from $1,012. A trip to Hanoi via Frankfurt using El Al and Vietnam Airlines will cost at least $1,286. A route to Bangkok via Tashkent with Uzbekistan Airlines costs from $1,378. Gulliver CEO Tamar Garzon noted that when choosing tickets, one should compare not only the cost but also the duration of the layover.
