Flights expected to become more expensive: aviation fees rise in 2027

The Israel Airports Authority is updating aviation fee rates for 2027, with an increase of $3.81 in the departure fee from Terminal 3 and $1.75 from Terminal 1. The increase stems from linkage to the Consumer Price Index (1.54%) and a change in the dollar exchange rate. The increase may be passed on to the final ticket price.

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) is expected to publish updated aviation fee rates for 2027 by October 1, 2026. The annual update, carried out under the fixed linkage mechanism in the fee regulations, reflects a 1.54% increase in the Consumer Price Index. Additionally, the change in dollar-denominated rates is influenced by the decline in the dollar exchange rate, as the fees themselves are set in shekels and the dollar amounts are updated accordingly. The departure fee from Terminal 3 will stand at $37.68, compared to $33.87 in 2026 – an increase of $3.81 per passenger. Passengers departing from Terminal 1 will pay $17.36, compared to $15.61 – an increase of $1.75. The IAA emphasizes that aside from the adjustment resulting from the linkage mechanism, no other change has been made to the rates. However, the fee increase may be passed on, in whole or in part, to the final price paid by the passenger, as fees and levies are part of the costs that airlines consider when pricing tickets.
