Chairman of the Interior Committee, MK Yitzhak Kroizer, will appear today (Sunday) for investigation at Lahav 433 following a confrontation with police officers in Mitzpe Yericho. Kroizer claims he was attacked with unreasonable force by police officers, beaten, thrown to the ground, and sprayed with pepper spray, after he approached to calm a confrontation between police and bereaved families at the end of a memorial ceremony for fallen IDF soldiers. According to him, he was prevented from filing a complaint with the Police Internal Investigations Department against the involved officers, despite waiting at the scene for nearly four hours. Kroizer calls the investigation "a disgraceful political attempt to turn the victim into a suspect" and accuses the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, and the State Attorney, Boaz Blet, of disgraceful conduct. He announced that after the investigation he will return to the Police Internal Investigations Department to insist that his complaint be taken.
