Bezalel Zini, brother of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, who was accused in the smuggling affair to Gaza and has been under house arrest for about six months, filed an unusual request for a six-hour family visit to his brother's home in the Har Homa neighborhood of Jerusalem during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. The prosecution opposed the request, despite approving other requests submitted by Zini in the same document, including a legal consultation meeting with a lawyer and medical treatments. Zini's lawyers argued that in the past he had been allowed outings for family gatherings, especially during holidays. Last week, Zini requested to be released from house arrest, explaining that "it would not occur to him to get into trouble, due to the fact that his brother is the Shin Bet chief."
