Mashal: Al-Aqsa is in unprecedented danger, and saving it requires exceptional action

Khaled Mashal, head of Hamas abroad, warned that the Al-Aqsa Mosque faces unprecedented danger, asserting that the Israeli occupation seeks to impose new realities. This came during a meeting for the support of Al-Aqsa, where he proposed four strategies for action including resistance, popular mobilization, mass mobilization, and official action.

Khaled Mashal, head of Hamas abroad, warned that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque faces unprecedented danger, asserting that the Israeli occupation seeks to resolve its battle over Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa by imposing new religious, administrative, and spatial realities. This came during his intervention in the "Urgent Meeting for the Support of Al-Aqsa in the Face of Aggression," organized by the "International Jerusalem Foundation" and the "Global Coalition for the Support of Jerusalem and Palestine," on Saturday. Mashal proposed four strategies for action, including resistance, Palestinian popular mobilization, Arab and Islamic mass mobilization, and official action. He reviewed a series of measures he said reveal the seriousness of the stage, including the complete closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for 40 days during the current year, the expansion of incursion periods, and the attempt to impose a spatial division. He pointed to the emptying of a number of basic facilities in the mosque, including the Dome of Imam al-Ghazali, the House of Noble Hadith, and the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall. Mashal accused the occupation of disrupting the responsibilities of the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem. He called on leaders of countries and scholars to assume their responsibilities towards Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.
