The Teachers' Union announced that classes at the "Yitzhak Shamir" elementary school in Holon will begin tomorrow (Friday) only at 10:00 AM, following an incident of verbal violence and threats by a father of a student. During a meeting with the school administration, the father hurled severe accusations, insulted the staff, and threatened the principal and homeroom teacher, saying, "You won't stay in your position, who are you anyway? I'll show you what's what." The father refused to leave the premises and only left after intervention by other parties. The homeroom teacher remained distraught and struggled to return to her classroom. Deputy Secretary-General of the Teachers' Union, Michael Pinto, condemned the offensive remarks and clarified that attempts to intimidate educators cross a red line. Chair of the Holon-Area branch, Orly Behat, said that teaching staff are not punching bags and that a parent has no right to instill fear. Tomorrow, Behat will arrive at the school to hold explanatory talks with the staff.
