Escalation of Settler Attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem Targeting Olive Pickers
Settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem have escalated during the olive harvest season, including injuries to farmers, theft of livestock, land clearing, and attacks on olive pickers under the protection of occupation forces.
Settler attacks on Palestinians and their property have escalated in various areas of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, coinciding with the olive harvest season. The attacks included injuries to farmers and prevention of medical treatment, theft of livestock and property, land clearing in the vicinity of Al-Mughayyir, and forcing olive pickers to leave their lands and confiscating their crops. Settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones near the Ein Ayoub roundabout west of Ramallah, and smashed a vehicle in the town of Sinjil north of the city. They also stormed the Sahl al-Rafid area northeast of Al-Mughayyir village, and agricultural lands west of Kafr Malik village. Near Nablus, settlers targeted Palestinian vehicles with stones near the Qusra roundabout and the Za'atara checkpoint south of the city, smashing the windows of four vehicles near the entrance to the town of Aqraba. Saturday evening's attacks resulted in a Palestinian being injured during an assault on Kafr Malik village east of Ramallah. In the Jerusalem district, settlers painted slogans on the walls of houses in the town of Beit Hanina calling for the killing of Palestinians. Settlers also attacked olive pickers in the village of Beit Iksa northwest of Jerusalem, under the protection of occupation forces.
