Elyav killed in accident in Lebanon, his family demands answers: "Clearly there was a major failure"
The family of Captain Elyav Tsefalmas, who was killed when a Humvee overturned in southern Lebanon, is demanding answers and claiming a major failure. The father claims the vehicle was traveling without an escort, in violation of regulations. The IDF has not yet responded.
A week and a half after the death of Captain Elyav Chaim Tsefalmas (21) in a Humvee rollover in southern Lebanon, his family members are demanding answers about the circumstances of the incident. His father, Benny, claims the vehicle was traveling without an escort, in violation of regulations, and that this constitutes a "major failure." According to him, a single Humvee with six soldiers was moving on a route without an escort, and everything was done to transport a soldier who was supposed to go home. He calls for a quick and professional investigation so that those responsible pay with their positions. The partner, Inbar Koren, recounted the moment she received the news and the five-year love story. Elyav's soldiers from the 603rd Engineering Battalion tattooed phrases he used to say on their bodies. At the funeral, his mother, Hali, eulogized him with great pain. The incident occurred in the afternoon during operational activity in the Litani area. The IDF has not yet responded.
