Egypt and Indonesia reject displacement and demand a halt to settlement

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto reject the forced displacement of Palestinians and demand an immediate halt to Israeli settlement, in a joint statement at the conclusion of Sisi's visit to Jakarta.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto issued a joint statement categorically rejecting any attempts to forcibly displace or expel Palestinians from their homeland, and demanding an immediate and complete halt to illegal Israeli settlement activities. The statement came at the conclusion of Sisi's visit to Jakarta, which began on Saturday, as part of an Asian tour that included South Korea and Malaysia. The two presidents expressed concern over the continuation of violence and Israeli military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza and the West Bank. They reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a just and comprehensive peace, including the full implementation of the plan put forward by US President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza. These positions come amid continued Israeli attacks despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.
