A 39-year-old man, Adam Hunter Harmel, was arrested and charged with a federal offense for transporting a minor across state lines with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity. Kylie told investigators she was held against her will, physically and sexually assaulted, and that the suspect forced her to remove her own braces using pliers to make identification harder. The breakthrough in the investigation came after Kylie contacted a minor she knew online, and his parents contacted her via video call while the FBI listened. The mother, Stephanie Coleman, confirmed her discovery in a Facebook post. FBI Director Kash Patel praised the cooperation between authorities. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
