Deputy Chief of Staff examines complaint by IDF officer against brigadier general: "Allegedly committed serious acts within a personal relationship"

The military prosecution has ordered the Deputy Chief of Staff to conduct an in-depth command investigation regarding a brigadier general, following a detailed complaint filed by a major. The complaint attributes to the senior officer conflict of interest, disclosure of classified information, exceeding authority, and abuse of power, against the backdrop of a personal relationship he maintained. The affair has been investigated in recent months by the Special Investigations Unit of the military police.

The main military prosecution has ordered the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Amir Baram, to conduct an in-depth command investigation regarding an officer with the rank of brigadier general. The decision was made following a detailed complaint filed by a major, a commander and combatant, as early as the beginning of May. The complaint attributes to the brigadier general a series of allegedly serious acts, including conflict of interest, disclosure of classified information to an unauthorized party, exceeding authority, and abuse of power. According to the complaint, the background to the alleged conduct is a personal relationship maintained by the senior officer. The affair has been investigated in recent months by the Special Investigations Unit of the military police, in cooperation with the IDF Information Security Department and under the supervision of the main military prosecution. During the investigation, testimonies were collected and materials were gathered. Upon completion of the command investigation, it will be determined whether and what command measures will be taken against the officer.
