American cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike is in advanced negotiations to acquire Israeli cybersecurity company Orion Security, which develops an AI platform that autonomously secures sensitive organizational data based on contextual understanding. The deal is expected to be worth approximately $500 million. Orion was founded in 2024 by CEO Nitay Milner, formerly a product lead at Epsagon (acquired by Cisco), and CTO Yonatan Kreiner, formerly head of application security at WalkMe. The company currently employs 20 people and is expanding its development centers in Israel and New York. To date, the company has raised about $38 million, including $32 million in February. Investors include Norwest Venture Partners, IBM, PICO Venture Partners, and Lama Partners. The solution developed by Orion replaces traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, which rely on thousands of manually defined policy rules and generate a flood of false alerts. The platform uses dedicated AI agents to identify the full context of each movement — content sensitivity, data history, user identity, and action intent — and prevents leakage before it occurs. The investment will allow Orion to accelerate development and prepare for growing demand for autonomous DLP solutions.
