An 8-year-old boy from Holon who was attacked by his neighbors' German Shepherd will receive 70,000 shekels in compensation as part of a settlement. The boy was bitten on the head, lost consciousness, and was left with a scar approximately 10 cm long. The incident occurred near the family's home, when the dog was outside without a muzzle. The boy was taken to Ichilov Hospital with a severe head injury. Since then, he has suffered from pain, scalp sensitivity that makes wearing a hat or helmet difficult, and a permanent medical disability of 10%. Additionally, he deals with nightmares, difficulty falling asleep, damage to self-esteem, and a phobia of dogs. The parents sued the dog's owners, and under the settlement, they will receive the compensation to avoid lengthy legal proceedings. The lawyer representing the parents stated that dog bite victims may be entitled to compensation even without proving negligence.
