'Change the time': Netanyahu aide allegedly sought to alter October 7 call log, transcript shows
A transcript published by N12 shows Netanyahu's former chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman, allegedly asked a PMO stenographer to change the recorded time of a call between Netanyahu and his military secretary on October 7, 2023, from 6:40 a.m. to 6:29 a.m. The stenographer refused, but Braverman allegedly altered the printed transcript by hand. The case has been passed to police.
A transcript published by Israeli news outlet N12 on Sunday shows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's former chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman, allegedly asked a Prime Minister's Office stenographer to change the recorded time of a call between Netanyahu and his former military secretary, Avi Gil, on the morning of October 7, 2023. According to the transcript, which N12 dates to January 2024, Braverman asked the stenographer to change the call's recorded time from 6:40 a.m. to 6:29 a.m., saying, "Wow, how beautiful. Look how sharp he is, Netanyahu. Look how sharp he is. It was at 6:29, not 6:40. Change the time." The stenographer refused, stating she was not permitted to alter the computerized, digitally signed record. Braverman allegedly then took the printed transcript and changed the time by hand in blue ink. The stenographer reported the incident to Gil. The information has been passed to police investigators. The account aligns with an interview Gil gave to N12 and Israel Hayom on Thursday, in which he accused Braverman of making the changes. A statement on Braverman's behalf denies the transcript's authenticity, arguing the stenographer was never told Braverman participated in the call and that no such transcript exists. Separately, N12 reported Braverman is suspected of collecting around 30 classified protocols without authorization in the month after October 7, allegedly to shape the public narrative. The case has been transferred to the Attorney General's Office.
