Bennett, Eisenkot or Lieberman — who will lead the fight against Netanyahu

A poll conducted by the Midgam Institute shows that 59% of opposition supporters consider Gadi Eisenkot the de facto leader of the bloc, and 53% see him as the best candidate for prime minister. At the same time, 52% of respondents fear that rivalry between Eisenkot, Bennett, and Lieberman reduces the bloc's chances of victory.

A poll conducted by the Midgam Institute (data collection in collaboration with IPanel) and published on Monday evening shows that among opposition supporters, Gadi Eisenkot is perceived as the main figure: 59% consider him the de facto leader of the bloc, and 53% as the most suitable candidate for prime minister. Naftali Bennett received 19% and 31% respectively, Avigdor Lieberman 11% and 13%. Meanwhile, 52% of respondents fear that the three-way rivalry reduces the bloc's chances of victory (38% hold the opposite view). 65% of respondents believe that the candidate should be determined by the largest mandate received, not by political experience. Opinions were also divided on the timing of the candidate's announcement: 37% want an announcement now, 34% closer to the elections, and 17% do not want to know in advance. Among Netanyahu supporters, Eisenkot also leads (25%), but 52% could not name a preferred candidate. The main challenge for the trio remains attracting new voters outside the opposition camp.
