Ben Gvir: 'I will demand from the PM the Defense portfolio, and from Gotliv the Justice portfolio'

Otzma Yehudit has revealed its official demands ahead of coalition negotiations, including the Defense portfolio for Itamar Ben Gvir and the Justice portfolio for Tali Gotliv. Alongside portfolio distribution, the party presents work plans that include encouraging voluntary emigration from Gaza and Judea and Samaria, changing open-fire orders, disarming the Palestinian Authority, firing the Attorney General, and changing the process for selecting Supreme Court judges.

Otzma Yehudit revealed its official demands on Tuesday evening ahead of coalition negotiations, centered on claims for two key portfolios: the Ministry of Defense for chairman Itamar Ben Gvir, and the Ministry of Justice for MK Tali Gotliv, who joined the party from Likud just this month. Alongside portfolio distribution, the party published revolutionary work plans. The security plan focuses on encouraging "voluntary emigration" of Palestinians from Gaza and Judea and Samaria, disarming the Palestinian Authority, arresting its senior officials identified with terrorism, and a sweeping change of open-fire orders. In the military-social sphere: raising soldiers' salaries, distributing land to fighters, and replacing the IDF's code of ethics. Gotliv's plan includes dismissing the Attorney General immediately upon the government's swearing-in, a overhaul in Supreme Court judge appointments requiring hearings and approval by a two-thirds majority, canceling the judicial selection course, reducing the High Court's powers, and canceling the requirement for prosecution approval to investigate incitement offenses. Ben Gvir demands that the Ministry of National Security remain with his party even if he is appointed Defense Minister. The early targeting sends a message to Likud and Netanyahu: the party demands direct control over the most sensitive power centers.
